Day 8

Emily:
We woke up extremely early this morning so we could be ready to pick up Rhys from Heathrow. We missed our bus, caught the wrong one (Nearly), had to wait ages for the correct one and finally we arrived at Heathrow about an hour after Rhys landed. We were concerned we had missed him... 2 hours later I had security searching for him, p.a. announcements calling him, and Qantas staff confirming he had actually made his flights. 2 and a half hours later, Rhys came walking out unpreturbed much to our relief!
We then travelled by another bus to a central bus station, caught yet another bus to Gatwick, where we flew to Amsterdam.
Jan & Carole (my godparents) met us at the airport with their son, Adrian, in a second car and took us to their home. We had tea, and enjoyed a relaxing evening in.

Glenn:

Go heathrow, Rhys was caught in a two and a half hour queue coming through immigration. Emily and I had thoughts of him not catching the flight from Sydney or being left behind in Singapore. We were a little anxious. Anyway Rhys came through calm and relaxed. The rest of our day was spent travelling and trouble free. We have had a wonderful evening here at Jan and Carole's enjoying their company and their son's, Adrian.

Rhys went to bed at about 8:15pm after spending approx 38 hours without sleep.

Peter:
Went to the aiport this morning to meet Rhys. We had to wait ages and ages before he came out. Since he arrived, we have been mucking around together...driving mum and Glenn crazy. We came to Amsterdam to Jan and Carole's. Jan made me eat heaps and heaps of dinner before i could have icecream. We had meatballs - a traditional dutch meal. Spent the night playing the Nintendo DS.

Rhys:

Has gone to bed, so he'll write his in the morning!
