Day 5

Emily's Day 5:

Woke up to have breakfast with Jasmine & Jackson (we enjoyed cereal together). Jasmine had to get ready for school and we walked her down the village lanes, passing by the blackberries that Jackson got his Daddy to pick for him! We passed the horse poo, but didn't get to see the dead mole! Jasmine's school is only a very short walk from their home. When we arrived, the students were out playing and the teacher on duty, as Glenn put it, might have been able to sit down in a chair having a cuppa, because there was only about 50 students and they were all playing in the one area very beautifully. A dream looking school. A ring of the hand bell and they were all inside.
We posted our day 4 blog late, found flights to Amsterdam, booked a hotel for London on Sunday night - almost used all our Visa in pounds. "Pena" played with Jackson while I downloaded emails and blog photos. We then said our goodbyes and left for Hertfordshire.

We came through Puckeridge first, hoping to see my very good friends Amanda and Keith, but they were out. We then drove on to see the house where I was born in Nasty (photo). From there we visited my sister Lisa - who has a new convertible which her husband Ryan gave her for their wedding anniversary, I have since put my order in with Glenn!! We then travelled to Ware (no not what, but where!), calling around to see where Peter's Graham lived, and visited Mort Love at the Glaxo Clubhouse (Marion not there :-( ...) We met up with Peter's Aunt Tracy who took us to Graham's grave, and organised for us to visit her Mum & Dad tomorrow.

We drove from Ware to Little Berkhamsted to visit my brother Paul. I wish we could see more of him and we told him that he needed to come and visit us in Australia!

Lastly, we travelled to Nigel and Barbara's house (my brother) in Stevenage where we sat and took a very deep breath! They took us out to dinner, which was absolutely fantastic, in a local pub. Our washing has been done, and Barbara has organised a buffet lunch for tomorrow where other family members we haven't seen yet are coming over to see us. Good night!

Glenn's day:

Well what can I say, today was met with a number of twists and turns. The closer we got to Hertfordshire the more unpredictable or journey became. Emily has a high proportion of family and friends in this area and it was a challenge to visit in order so as not to back track over our selves. As always over the past few days it was nice to arrive at our destination. It's been a pleasure to watch Emily and her family's faces light up when they greet each other. Wherever we go the warmth of the hospitality has been uplifting, thank you :)

Still waking for an hour or so at around 4:00am, starting to feel fatigued and we're not even 1/2 way through this whirl wind tour.

Peter's Day:

Today I went to Nigel and Barbara's. then we went to dinner. then we went to sleep. and as well we left Chris and Nadine's after playing with Jackson and Jasmine. Then we went and saw Lisa. Then we went and saw Paul. Then we went and saw Graham's grave.
